Coming off of the rave reviews from last year’s ski trip, we are bringing this year’s edition of our winter escapade to Flaine. This ski resort resides in the heart of the Grand Massif, one of the largest and most beautiful ski areas in France. The area is well-covered in dustings of fresh snow every ski season. Enjoy warm and toasty food and drinks at each mealtime, and spend some quality time with friends after spending the day out on the snow. New to skiing or consider yourself a veteran? Not to worry—the large selection of slopes accessible from Flaine caters to all levels of experience, ensuring that you’ll have a blast regardless of whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or expert skier.
Flaine is lauded as one of the most value-for-money ski resorts, with the ski package weighing in at just below £500 (all-inclusive).
The package includes:
- 7 nights accommodation
- All meals from dinner on 12 Dec through to lunch on the 19 Dec
- Ski/board; boot hire
- 6.5 days Flaine lift pass
- Evening entertainment program
- Return coach travel from and to Cambridge
Register now at this link to reserve a spot! You can see who else is going, and indicate if you are, here. Remember, this event was met with good reception last year—so we expect it to be popular this year. You won’t need to make full payment immediately after registration.
To keep costs even lower, all participants registering now must travel to and from the resort via the chartered Cambridge return coach service (London Coach option). As the cost is currently being negotiated, don’t make final payment just yet—this will be due early in October. This will not affect the deposit amount.

The end of term draws near—not that you really needed an excuse to spend an afternoon basking in the sun with drink in hand and exam dread long forgotten. No longer are you restrained by the shackles of Tripos exams! At a loss of what to do with your newfound freedom? Come refresh your weary stress-ridden soul at this year’s CUMSA Garden Party!
Expect to catch up with CUMSA friends, wolf down barbecued meats and teatime treats, and have a go at giant Jenga or croquet. Perhaps you could choose to constantly hover close to the chocolate fountain. Or, if you so wish, simply laze on the grass and enjoy the good food, music and company. Come in fancy dress related to a character or concern in Alice in Wonderland and you may even be rewarded the glorious title of best-dressed male/female/cat; no obligations, though.
All CUMSA members who will no longer be students of the University at the end of this academic year, or who are medics in their third year, can get tickets free of charge. Invite anyone you know along, and celebrate the beginning of summer with us!
