We’ve finally made it to the end of Lent term (well, almost)! It’s been a stressful term for everyone, so why not head down to our End-of-Lent Movie Night to relax and unwind? And if you’re hoping to keep fit while sampling the delights of Ely, do join in our Bike Hike during the Easter vacation!
Also, as you’ve likely noticed, The Weekly Noose has now been renamed CUMSA Chronicle! We hope that this will better reflect what we do here at CUMSA: your time here in Cambridge is like a historical, epic journey and we are here to facilitate this. We hope that the Chronicle will not just be a source of weekly updates, but also help you to rekindle fond memories as you look back on your time in Cambridge in the future. :)
1. End-of-Lent Movie Night
It’s been a long and arduous Lent term, but we’re almost done with the 8 weeks of struggle. What better way to celebrate the start of the Easter holidays than with the people you love, watching the movies you love, while eating the food you love! Best of all, it’s completely FREE FOR ALL!
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our online poll. By popular vote, we will be watching 21 Jump Street! What better way to de-stress than watching a hilarious action comedy? Jenko (Channing Tatum) and Schmidt (Jonah Hill) were a jock and a dork respectively in high school, and both end up in the police force after graduation. They are assigned to an undercover unit to infiltrate a drug ring in a high school, but find that high school has changed a lot since their time, and they now have to confront their adolescent problems all over again! (Watch the trailer here.)

3. SMS Notification Service
Given the unintelligible clutter that constantly fills up our Facebook and mailboxes every day, some of us might prefer to receive updates on important CUMSA events by other means. As such, we are launching the new SMS Notification Service (SNS) for CUMSA members! By subscribing to this service, you will be agreeing to receive notifications on CUMSA events and activities via text messaging to your phone, so as to ensure that you aren’t left out of the loop. This would be especially useful for those of us without Facebook, since the bulk of our publicity will be going out through Facebook.
To sign up, please visit http://cumsa.org/index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=sns_registration and enter your details. Rest assured, your contact information will be kept confidential and used only for authorized purposes.
(Note: This does not replace CUMSA Chronicle and you should still check the Chronicle for information on career & internship opportunities and other miscellaneous events!)
Your friendly Publicity Secretary,
