Dear members,
Welcome back! We hope that everyone has had a great winter break and is geared up for the term ahead.
CUMSA has lined up a list of exciting events this term, such as the Asian Food Festival, Back-to-Term Lunch, and Annual Dinner. AFF ticketing will be opening soon, so mark your calendars for AFF on 4 February 2017, 7pm. More updates will be released in the upcoming chronicles. We will also be sending out an email regarding the upcoming Annual General Meeting, with details concerning CUMSA Committee 17/18 elections and constitutional amendments.
Best,

[Events] 1. CUMSA Sports Updates
CUMSA has rolled out a new loan system for the sports equipment that we have! The current status of the equipment can be viewed at this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/132msAboNw4vqf0cJd_BSQ4FnqyogFkJWd5t8pADtNGM/edit#gid=0.
The loan period will be for an entire term, unless someone else requests for the item. Please get in touch Christiane if you would like to (1) borrow an item, (2) return an item, (3) pass the item to someone else, (4) replace a lost/damaged item, (5) request for new items to be added to the CUMSA sports inventory (subject to approval). Please note that whoever’s name is on the sheet will be held responsible for the item.
Additionally, the Cambridge Chinese Society is considering organising an Asian indoor football tournament in Lent and has invited CUMSA to send in a team. Dates have not been finalised but do get in touch with Christiane if you are interested.
[Events] 2. Hosts for R&T Mooters
CUMSA will be organising the Rajah&Tann-UK Moot in Cambridge on 4-5 February 2017. We will have mooters travelling down from various universities across the UK for the weekend. These mooters will require shelter and a special kind of warmth you can only receive from the kindness of a stranger.
This is an appeal to anyone in CUMSA who might be willing to open their doors to host a mooter on the night of the 4th! A very low level of commitment is required; we will take care of their food, and we only need your floor space. Wine will be provided.
There will be 12 tickets up for grabs for CUMSA members, and tickets will be on a first come, first serve basis. If you’re a Queens member from CUMSA, you may also choose to book your own ticket outside of our allocated seats, and you will be reimbursed the same discount of £3.60.
