‘If I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter.’

-Blaise Pascal

Hi CUMSA, thank you all for another fun-filled and exhilarating year!

It has come to the time of the year where the torch is going to be passed down from one CUMSA generation to another. I would like take this opportunity to express a heartfelt gratitude towards our out-going committee– Michelle, Bridget, Jing En, Christiane, Chia Wei, Darrel, Han Liang, Hui Min, Kelvin, Han Liang, Yibin and Meilin for their amazing work in making our events successful, enjoyable and engaging, and for going the extra mile to put that extra smile on all of our faces.

I would also like to introduce you to the new additions to our family– Arthur, Bryan, Choon Kiat, Jarvis, Jasmine, Jazreen, John Paul, Joshua, Sujay, Yau Xuan and myself. We promise to do our best to make the year fun and enjoyable for you guys. Do keep a look out for the host of new activities and sign up!

Moving on, I would like to update you on what to expect in the year ahead. We will be adding a little sugar and spice to everything nice, do expect new initiatives such as London boat parties to swaps with other societies, Valentine’s Day Secret Santa and more overseas trips. We will also strive to make our activities cheaper and better, through finding more sponsors and patrons.

Importantly this year, we will be setting up the CUMSA Alumni network– one of our most major initiatives– to link CUMSA up with our alumni. This will be a platform for students old and new to interact with one another, thereby expanding friendships and providing opportunities. We aim to make CUMSA a ‘continuing’ society for generations to come.

I promise you that the incoming committee this year will work extra hard to ensure that you have a fun, memorable and meaningful time with us!

Last but not least, I would like to thank all of you for your amazing support and presence over the past year, without which none of this would have been possible.

Thank you and have a great day!
